Yes in life any work experience is relevant. A BPO experience will be much more relevant because it will tell the world that you took a bold step. And you performed in an industry that most people would be afraid to put their hands into because they were too timid to try something new.

Can I switch back to my old career?
You may not want to. However, as in any job, at any time when you feel that you need a change you can always step back into what your preference is.
